The KGB Cells Museum takes you back in time to the Soviet era

Get a glimpse into the everyday operations of a Soviet detention centre.

The museum is situated in a “grey house” on Riia Hill, where the NKVD/KGB pre-trial prison operated during the 1940s-1950s. The corridor part of the prison, solitary cells, and part of the cells have been restored to their original form.

The permanent exhibition is in Estonian, English, Russian and Finnish.
