The collections of Tartu City History Museums comprise:

  • an archaeological collection of unearthed findings from digs, investigations and random discoveries
  • a photo collection depicting life and changes in the city
  • an archive of documents and materials describing the history of the city
  • a collection of historical items made or used in Tartu
  • a collection of artistic works depicting historical figures and views of Tartu
  • a numismatic collection of currency used or found in Tartu
  • an audio-visual collection of recordings related to the people and city of Tartu
As many as 95% of these items can be found on the Museums Public Portal (MuIS).
