In the summer of 2025, visitors to the 19th Century Citizen’s Museum can enjoy works by artists who have studied or are currently studying at the Konrad Mägi Studio. A second exhibition, titled “After the Solstice”, presents oil pastels by the artist Silja Härm (born in 1969).
Silja Härm studied painting at the Pallas Art Association Studio (earlier the Konrad Mägi Studio) from 1989 to 1994 under the guidance of Kaja Kärner and Heldur-Jaan Viirres. She has exhibited her works since 1990 and has held around ten solo exhibitions, featuring mainly abstract paintings focused on color.
In addition to painting, Silja Härm has also studied theology and worked as a librarian and lecturer. She is a member of the Pallas Art Association.
The exhibition at the 19th Century Citizen’s Museum features oil pastels created either on-site in nature or abstracted from impressions of nature. The title “After the Solstice” refers both to the timing of the exhibition and to the natural impressions captured in the paintings. The artist explains that after the solstice, the light begins to change and gradually takes on the tones of the coming season.
The exhibition is open at the 19th Century Citizen’s Museum from June 18 to July 13.
